Jim Bratton's 05 Bully
This 2005 Bully was
purchased on June 6 2005. I only did a few thing to it the first year, I bought it at the peak of riding season here in Pennsylvania ! Doolies from Roadhouse, PC III USB, K&N air filter, Windshied, 2" riser extentions. The winter of 2005-2006 I got a little more deeper in the pockets ! I installed 1 1/4 diameter 16" apes from Cyclesmith, internally wired with black braided lines from Goodridge and a Motion Pro throttle cable. I topped them off with Show Chrome grips, black painted resiviors and boxes with chrome lids, and Arlen Ness mirrors mounted upside down. I chrome plated the wheels, lower fork legs, brake calipers, and top triple tree. Also had the rotors mirror polished and installed a set of fork bullets. The stock seat sucked ! I went with a Corbin dual touring saddle for when the wife was along and a Corbin solo for the "cool solo" look. You can never have too much storage for junk, so i got a set of Tsukayu Strong bags with univesal mounting hardware. Ditched the taillight and turn signals for ShineyHiney taillights, and frenched the tag in the fender. It seemed to sit a little high for my taste, so i installed a Scootworks Slammer kit on the rear. While i was back there, i wrapped the right side of the swingarm in mirrored stainless steel and put the Cobra chrome driveshaft cover on with the bolt cover piece too. I like "naked jugs" (what guy don't ?? ha ha) so i removed the PAIR valve and the horn ( mounted the horn in the tool box ). Then i found an old Hypercharger laying in the garage and desided to put that on the right side ( guess one naked jug is better than none ! ) That big old brake pedal on the Bully is about as big as the one in my pick-up, i trimmed it down and got a pad for a Dyna for it, much better ! The wife insisted i get her a set of Cobra floorboards for the rear, since i was ordering more parts, i got the Cobra freeway bar and a set of Dessert Dawgs for on them. At this point you would have thought i spent enough for one year, wrong ! I just couldn't stand the factory paint. I tore it down and headed to Middletown Pennsylvania to Craigs Custom Motorcycles. I had Craig paint my last bike, wow, what an artist ! I told him the colors i wanted and said " I want flames from front to back ! , call me when it's done ! " About a month later he called. Man, when i walked in the paint room, I fell in love !!! It turned out better than i imagined it would. Of all the parts i put on, the paint was my favorite !! Some say House of Color paint is over-rated, not in my book!
I'm sure there are bits & pieces that i forgot to mention, but you get it. . . . . Ride safe, Jim. Five words everybody should remember when customizing your scoot. . . . . . A LITTLE JUST AIN'T ENOUGH !
