9th Sept 2005 Latest News: Here are some pictures of my bike as it is today... Last time I mentioned that my wife said it will have to go... Well... actually - the wife is gone!!! ... and the bike is still with me!!! -

I repainted it with amathyst pearl and flip flop ghost flames... Side covers are airbrushed with a decal of the grim reaper... Pipes are bubs, seat is from a harley softail and handle bars are from a marauder. I have about 15k miles on it now and some really wild ideas are brewing for it soon...I'll keep you all posted!!!

Here are two pictures of my bike as of a week ago... The handlebars are from the maurader... I cut 2 inches off the rear fender and shortened it up... then made the taillight to use a cat eye lens... the directionals are off of a local harley shop acc. wall. I also sunk the license plate into the fender and put a diamond shaped window below it for the running light. The seat is a homemade cobra style but as you can see I hadn't covered it yet as I was still trying it out.

Unfortuneatly, a few days ago, I was hit on the left side while going through an intersection by a youngster who had just gotten his license. The  bike is scratched and banged up pretty badly... surprised Idid't lose a leg!!! Those crash bars saved me no doubt... as the left one is torn off at the top and was driven into the front cyl head cover... I went over the handlebars by way of a complete somersault, landing on my right butt cheek and tailbone... Ouch!... No broken bones but sprained my ankle and thumb.... Wife says bike is now for sale... Gonna miss that bike - especially since I was planning to do a lot more customizing on it too...

Well hope you all ride safe...

... Just got the new pictures in... I have had so much fun changing the look of my bike as my mood changed... Somedays it has a solo seat, sometimes the dual setup. Sometimes with the shield / bags and back rest, sometimes without... Best mod was cutting off the cobra slashcut mufflers (I thought the sound was too muddy!) ... and put on a set of Harley Screaming Eagle mufflers with homemade brackets to hold them in place and rejetted.. Runs awesome and sounds better!!! .The rear seat was lowered about 1 1/2 inches too  ....John Cartelli

UPDATE, the first.

Well my name is John Cartelli...I'm from Massachusetts.... Just did a cruise this past fourth of july weekend with my friend who has a "fatboy".... We did the Mohawk Trail on sat, Northern Ma. on sun and rte 1 to Maine then across N.H. and Vermont and return to Ma. on mon....totalled  1,000 miles... my aching butt... but I loved every second of it!

My bike performed perfectly... and got an average 52 miles per gallon... thats the best yet...

It now has 3600 miles on it and Ill be changing over to synthetic oil soon...there also will be new handle bars coming (something a little wider and back)....the Cobra slash cut mufflers are going and a set of early 80's Harley softail ones are gonna be tried.... looking around for a driver back rest....also a rear fender guard...

My friend on the Fatboy cant get over how vibrationless mine is...I tried his and it is cool...but,  I couldnt keep my feet on the floorboards...they kept vibrating off !!!   Any Intruder riders in Ma. wanna get together and ride? Email me...I'll go...
