GOD I LOVE THIS BIKE!

3 weeks, 900 miles, and 7 tanks of gas later; I am more impressed with this machine than ANY I have riding in the in the past 26 years.  Is it perfect, no...  but there are a Ga-Zillion things I love,  and I have only 2 problems, 1 minor & 1 semi-major.

First, the problems:
Minor Problem- the Suzuki light bar does not have enough adjustment up & down.  My lights were pointing above the high-beam of the headlight and were adjusted all the way down.  Fix - I used 2 bars wrapped in THICK cloth placed in the opening of the bar below the headlight.  Applying short bursts of increasing pressure, I slowly lowered the light alignment to the appropriate level.  You must be careful to do this in small amounts, you don't want to bend the bar too much and be sure to protect your chrome.  Is this an "ideal" way to adjust lights,...  no, but it took me 5 minutes so what s the big deal.
Semi-major problem: The rain started back & I haven't been able to ride in 3 days.  Can I blame Suzuki for this??

The bike is AWESOME. Yes, it won't turn around on a 2 lane road,  so I learn to plan better.  The pillion seat does subject the passenger to more wind that my Goldwing did, but my wife says she wouldn't spend 4 hours on the back of the Goldwing again.  I got 37mpg or better on each and every tank from the first with a mix  of in town and in-town Interstate travel.  My Goldwing couldn't touch this.  The styling... what can I say, I love it!  Yes it's big, too big?  Not for me.  If it's too big for you, don't buy it.

And what an attention getter!

(Earlier Post - from 15-May-99)

Today was the BIG Day, I picked up my Red/White Intruder from the dealer on my lunch hour.  The ride back to the office was Heaven!  It was great when I walked out to the parking lot several times during the afternoon and found a crowd gathered around it.  It was by far the BIGGEST and BADDEST bike out there.

Once I got home, my wife and I suited up to do it a full tank of fuel,  gotta start the break-in period sometime.  After riding it for several short trips in the afternoon and then home, there was NO doubt that I picked the right bike.  It was rock solid at interstate speeds in the high Kansas winds, and even held it's own in the wake of the Trucks.  But, the evening ride was even better.  This bike is better than ANY bike I've ever had for two-up riding.  Neither my Goldwing nor Kawasaki 1300 can compare.

More Stories and pics as the trip-miles mount.
